The police said the blast happened in a gas pipeline going through the channel, over which a structure of a private bank was developed.

Station house official Zafar Ali Shah said the bank had been served a notification to abandon the structure so the channel could be tidied up, adding that the amassing of gases in the channel is associated as the reason with the impact, announced Sunrise. As indicated by Geo television, the police said the blast happened in a gas pipeline going through the channel.
